What is hot rolling?
Hot rolling generally refers to rolling above the recrystallization temperature of the metal. During the hot rolling process, the metal deformation has both hardening and softening processes. Due to the influence of the deformation speed, as long as the recovery recrystallization process is too late, the metal will have a certain degree of work hardening with the increase of the deformation degree. However, in the hot rolling temperature range, the softening process dominates. Therefore, at the end of hot rolling, the recrystallization of the metal is often incomplete, and the hot-rolled aluminum alloy strip shows a recrystallization and deformation structure.
Features of the hot rolled aluminum sheet
- The properties of hot-rolled aluminum sheets in terms of stretching and oxidation are better than those prodsuced by other processes. And the equipment cost and prodsuction cost of the hot-rolled sheet is relatively high.
- Both cast-rolled and hot-rolled sheets can be used for stretching, but the effect of cast-rolled sheets is not ideal, so the commonly referred to as stretched sheets are generally hot-rolled sheets.
- There is also a pre-stretched aluminum sheet, which is a relatively hard alloy aluminum sheet (there are several grades), which is a process of stretching during the prodsuction process, in order to eliminate the internal stress of the aluminum sheet and strengthen the flatness.

Classification of hot rolled aluminium and aluminum alloys
One is a hot rolled coil
Aluminum and aluminum alloy strips with a thickness of less than 7.0mm from hot-rolled coils are usually prodsuced from hot-rolled coils, and the prodsucts are mainly used as cold-rolled billets and sheets. The modern prodsuction process is ingot milling → heating (integration of soaking heating) → hot rough rolling → hot continuous rolling → baling and weighing.
The other type is a hot-rolled thick sheet
Hot-rolled thick sheet refers to aluminum and aluminum alloy sheets with a thickness of not less than 7.0mm. The main varieties are hot-rolled sheets, annealed sheets, quenched or quenched pre-stretched sheets, etc. Hot-rolled thick sheets are usually prodsuced in hot-rolling mills. The traditional process is: ingot homogenization→milling→heating→hot rolling to cut to length→straightening.
What is the difference between a hot rolled aluminum sheet and a cold rolled aluminum sheet?
cold rolled vs hot rolled aluminum
1. Processing technology
Cold rolling is processed into cast-rolled coils by a casting and rolling mill, while hot rolling is heated by aluminum ingots and rolled by a hot rolling mill at high temperatures.
2. Price
The process of cold rolled aluminum sheet is simple, and the price is cheaper than hot rolled aluminum sheet price.
3. Performance
The hot rolled aluminum sheet has good surface quality, strong mechanical properties and ductility, and good oxidation effect.
4. Purpose
Cold-rolled aluminum sheets are mostly used in molds, and hot-rolled aluminum sheets are stamped and stretched easily.
5. Finished prodsuct
The elongation of cold-rolled aluminum sheets is lower than that of hot-rolling, and the surface of hot-rolled aluminum sheets is brighter.
5052 aluminum sheet hot rolling temperature
The hot rolling temperature of the 5052 aluminum sheet includes the starting rolling temperature and the finishing rolling temperature.
Theoretically, the rolling temperature is 0.85~0.90 times the melting point of the alloy, that is, the solidus temperature, but the influence of the low melting point phase should be considered. If the hot rolling temperature is too high, the coarse grains or the melting of the intergranular low melting point phase are likely to occur, resulting in overheating or overburning of the ingot during heating, and cracking during hot rolling.
The final rolling temperature is generally 20~30℃ above the phase transition temperature. For alloys without phase transformation, the final rolling temperature can be 0.65 to 0.70 times the melting point of the alloy, that is, 65% to 70% of the solidus temperature. To ensure the final rolling temperature, multi-strand continuous rolling is an effective process method.

Aluminum sheet sheet standard export packing
- The aluminum sheet is paperclip or laminated to ensure that the surface of the aluminum sheet is intact and free of scratches;
- Plastic film ( HDPE, PVC, PE or PET etc ) protection or hard kraft paper wrapping is used to prevent moisture and rain to ensure that the aluminum sheet is clean and free of dirt during transportation (each package has a moisture-proof desiccant to ensure the quality of our prodsucts in East China and South China, where there is more rain);
- Installed with wooden brackets and reinforced with steel straps to avoid collision during transportation and to ensure the geometry of the aluminum sheet remains unchanged;
- For export prodsucts, we use wooden boxes and pallets with fumigation mark for packaging;
- We can also pack according to other packaging requirements of customers;
